A Rare Journey: Nora Joyce’s Odyssey, a captivating and entertaining new play that celebrates the extraordinary life of Nora Joyce is coming to An Táin Arts Centre.

This one- woman show, written and performed by Paula Greevy-Lee, invites audiences to discover the sharp wit, wisdom, and complexity of a woman too often overshadowed by her famous husband, James Joyce.

Taking place on Friday 23rd May at 8pm, A Rare Journey is a 75-minute rollercoaster through music, song, and story, richly evocative of the Joyces’ world. Greevy-Lee's portrayal vividly separates Nora from her literary alter ego Molly Bloom, and dispels the persistent myths that have painted her as merely an adjunct to her husband’s genius.

With razor-sharp humour and heartfelt compassion, this production reveals Nora Joyce as a remarkable figure in her own right—funny, wise, and undeniably resilient.

Audiences will also have the opportunity to stay for a post-show discussion with writer and actor Paula Greevy-Lee and director Gerard Lee, offering deeper insights into Nora’s life and legacy. A unforgettable evening celebrating the rare and radiant spirit of Nora Joyce.

Tickets are priced at €18 / €16 (plus €1.50 booking fee) and are available from An Táin Arts Centre’s Box Office on Crowe Street, by phone at 042 933 2332, or online at www.antain.ie.
