Louth County Council has paid warm tribute to Ger Brennan following his decision to step down as manager of the Louth senior football team.

Brennan, who led the county to its first Leinster Senior Football Championship title in 68 years, is being hailed for his transformative impact on Louth GAA and the unforgettable moments he brought to fans during his tenure.

Cllr Seán Kelly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, praised Brennan’s impact, saying: “I think I speak on behalf of all Louth Gaels when I say that Ger Brennan’s contribution to GAA in this county will always be remembered. 

“From the magic of winning that first Leinster title in 68 years, to the exciting football his team produced, he has left a legacy that he can be proud of. I want to thank him for the memories that will live on for generations.”

David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council, added: “Ger Brennan brought energy, belief, and professionalism to the Louth setup and inspired a sense of pride across the county. 

“His leadership in delivering a historic Leinster title will never be forgotten, and we are grateful for his dedication and wish him every success in the future.”
