The Fleadh will feature provincial competitions, street performances, workshops, and a lively Gig Rig programme
Louth County Council will sponsor this weekend's Leinster Fleadh, which will take place in Drogheda from July 11th-13th.
Following its hugely successful hosting of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in 2018 and 2019, Drogheda now welcomes the Leinster Fleadh for the very first time.
The event will bring thousands of visitors to the town for a weekend of traditional Irish music, dance, language, and community celebration.
The Fleadh will feature provincial competitions, street performances, workshops, and a lively Gig Rig programme, with venues centred around Ballymakenny Road and throughout the town. Local pubs, cafés, and public spaces will be filled with the sounds of spontaneous sessions and the spirit of Irish culture.
Cllr Seán Kelly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, said: “The Leinster Fleadh is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our shared cultural heritage. It brings people from the province together to enjoy a weekend of creativity, connection, and community spirit. We’re proud to support this event and look forward to a fantastic celebration of traditional Irish music.”

Cllr Michelle Hall, Mayor of Drogheda, added: “Drogheda has already proven itself on the national stage with the Fleadh Cheoil, and now we’re thrilled to bring the Leinster Fleadh here for the first time. It brings the town’s streets to life and showcases the warmth and creativity of the local community. We’re ready to roll out the red carpet and make this a weekend to remember.”
Sabhbh Ní Mhaolagáin, Tourism Officer of Louth County Council, said: “Louth County Council warmly welcomes the Leinster Fleadh to Drogheda this summer. This festival is a wonderful celebration of our vibrant traditional music and rich culture in Louth, and we are proud to support an event that unites communities through the power of music. Táimid ag tnúth le deireadh seachtaine iontach lán le ceol, cairdeas, agus céad míle fáilte roimh chách.”
