The Patrick Kavanagh Centre in association with the Patrick Kavanagh Society and SoFFt Productions have announced Kavanagh Weekend 2025. It will take place over three days between Friday September 26th and Sunday September 28th 2025 in The Patrick Kavanagh Centre and The Round Tower Church in Inniskeen.

The Kavanagh Weekend 2025 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of literature, music, and community, with a stellar lineup of events and performances. Headlining the festival is concertina virtuoso Cormac Begley and Michael Gallens’ Sudden Wells, setting the stage for a weekend rich in creativity.

Festival highlights include the screening of Three Irish Writers, followed by a panel discussion with Frank McNally, John Connell, and Pat McCabe. The Saturday evening will also see the much-anticipated return of the music session curated by The Cobblestone at McNellos.

Artist Dani Larkin joins as Artist-in-Residence, hosting numerous events throughout the weekend, including an offsite storytelling and music gathering at Brehon Brewhouse. Colm Keegan will inspire audiences with a series of poetry workshops, culminating in the announcement of the prestigious Kavanagh Poetry Award and the book launch of The Monsters Back.

Following last year’s magical opening event, the Friday evening Procession of Light led by the Armagh Rhymers returns. New this year, The Rhymers will also lead a straw making and Performance workshop.

With such a vibrant programme, Kavanagh Weekend 2025 is set to be a truly unmissable celebration of culture, creativity, and community in the heart of Inniskeen.
