Bó Studios Gallery in Dundalk open every Saturday to the public
Bó Studios at 6 Jocelyn Street in Dundalk, an artist studio established in 2020 that provides a space for local artists in a mix of open plan setting and individual studios, continues to open its gallery every Saturday from 1 to 5pm, where it showcases all the artists' work
The gallery was first opened to the public before Christmas last year, and such was its success that the decision was made to open on Saturdays.
At the gallery, visitors can see and buy artworks produced by the artists at Bó Studios. This includes ceramics created by Etaoin O'Reilly; woven belts multi-disciplinary artist Úna Curley; prints by Julie Corcoran much more.
Bó Studios provides a space for ten artists at present: Etaoin O'Reilly, Gráinne Murphy; Úna Curley, Julie Corcoran; David Callan; John Connolly; Bláthnaid McClean; Linda McConville; Stephen Hurley and Jenny Slater. Here is a little bit of information about each:
Etaoin O’Reilly - Ceramic Artist - Etaoin is a ceramic artist who graduated from NCAD in 2014 with a first class honors in Craft Design. Since graduating Etaoin has completed several residencies. She has launched “Etaoin O’Reilly Ceramics” where she sells her own ceramic art work and functional range, and also runs pottery workshops at Bó Studios.
David Callan - Mixed Media Artist - David is a mixed media artist who since completing a BA in Art & Design at GMIT CCCAM in Galway, has worked as a practicing artist, curator and art technician. He is a former director of 126, Artist-run Gallery, a former member of the collectives Angry Hammers and Expanded Draught and has worked as an art technician for various galleries and festivals around the country.
John Connolly - Mixed Media Artist - John is a mixed media and performance artist who has graduated with a Masters in Fine Art & Sculpture from the University of Ulster. He is a member of Flax Studios in Belfast and also works as a visual arts technician.
Bláthnaid McClean - Beezti Designs - Bláthnaid studied at NCAD receiving a BA in Fashion Design. When she left college she started up her own label selling out of the Design Centre in Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin. In 2018 she started up her own hand screen printed T-shirt business called BEEZTI, selling her unique designs online.
Linda McConville - Artist, Printmaker and Illustrator - Linda McConville is an artist, illustrator and printmaker, who has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Design and a Honours Degree in Fine Art from GMIT (now ATU). Her work has been exhibited around Ireland and Scotland, with two of her college graduate prints in the University of Galway. Linda now works in mainly watercolour, pencil, pen and ink, along with digital, and a number of crafts.
