One vehicle, which had been parked blocking a footpath, was towed away.
Dundalk Roads Policing Unit carried out patrols last week as part of Operation Enable and Make Way, targeting motorists who parked illegally in disabled bays or blocked footpaths.
A number of fixed penalty notices were issued during the patrol. One vehicle, which had been parked blocking a footpath, was towed away. Gardaí confirmed the driver will now face both a fine and an impound fee.
Another motorist, parked in a disabled bay, claimed they were just sitting in the spot for a couple of minutes.
Gardaí highlighted that even a short stay in a restricted space can cause serious difficulties for people who genuinely need those facilities.
