Stewart Agnew headlined fundraising concert in aid of Dundalk's Turas

Stewart Agnew performed a fundraising concert for Turas in An Táin on Saturday night

Dundalk singer - songwriter Stewart Agnew took to the stage of his hometown theatre for the very first time on Saturday joined by his band and acclaimed special guest Zoë Conway, with support from rising local talent Emma Marmion.

The concert in An Táin was a special fundraiser in aid of Turas, a community addiction service based in Dundalk, which was celebrating 20 years of supporting people on their recovery journey.

The event was particularly meaningful for Stewart, who serves on the Turas Board.

“It was an honour to play my first hometown theatre show in support of Turas and the incredible work they do every day”, Stewart said.

“I’m especially grateful to Dundalk Credit Union for their generous support of this event, which made it possible to bring the community together in such a meaningful way,”

Nicki Jordan, Manager of Turas, said: “We were delighted that Stewart donated the proceeds from his concert to Turas and that Dundalk Credit Union supported the event.

“Turas is a valuable community organisation, and we need help from the local community to continue providing our services.

“This concert was a wonderful way to celebrate 20 years of Turas while also raising vital support for our work.”

The night also featured the premiere of a new video highlighting some of the powerful stories from Turas’ work, made possible through the generous sponsorship of Dundalk Credit Union.

Billy Doyle, CEO of Dundalk Credit Union, said: “We are committed to supporting the local community, and we were delighted to partner with Stewart on this project.

“Turas provides such a vital service – most families are impacted by addiction in some way, and none of us know when we, or someone we love, may need their help.

“We were proud to stand with Turas as they marked 20 years of service to the people of Dundalk.”

The event took place on October 4th in An Táin, and tickets were available via An Táin’s website.
