Get ready to explore the fun and fascinating side of maths as Maths Week 2025 comes to Louth from Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th October.
Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, Maths Week has grown into the world’s leading maths festival, engaging hundreds of thousands of people every year. In 2024, more than 500,249 students from 2,702 schools took part, while over 20,000 members of the public enjoyed events across the country. In County Louth, more than 9,000 pupils are already registered to take part.
Throughout the week, schools, libraries and community venues across the county will be alive with puzzles, games, shows and hands on activities designed to spark curiosity and show that maths is about much more than textbooks. From cracking codes to exploring the maths of music, sport and nature, there will be something for everyone including children, teenagers, parents and grandparents alike.
Eoin Gill, Co-ordinator of Maths Week Ireland, said: “Maths Week is about changing how people think and feel about maths. It is not just numbers on a page; it is about solving problems, spotting patterns and discovering the ideas that shape our world.
"We have seen an incredible response over the past twenty years, and we are excited to see everyone in County Louth getting involved again this year.”
