Harvest Thanksgiving Weekend at St Nicholas’ Parish Church in Dundalk

St. Nicholas’ Parish Church, Dundalk, says it is delighted to welcome everyone to a joyful Harvest Thanksgiving Weekend on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th October 2025.

The weekend will include stalls, open church events, the return of Messy Church for families, and a special Songs of Praise and Thanksgiving Service celebrating 100 years of the Mothers’ Union in Dundalk.

Saturday 18th October – Harvest Fun for All Ages
From 11.00 AM, the church will be open with stalls and displays to enjoy, followed by the return of Messy Church from 2.00 PM – 4.00 PM at St. Nicholas’ Parish Church, Dundalk.
Messy Church is a free event for families and children of all ages – a relaxed and joyful way to experience church together and celebrate harvest in a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere.

St. Nicholas’ Parish Church says everyone is welcome – and asks people to spread the word across their schools, clubs, and groups.

Sunday 19th October – Thanksgiving, Heritage & Celebration
The celebrations continue on Sunday, when the church will be open for viewing and private prayer from 12.00 PM – 4.00 PM.
At 2.00 PM, Mr. Trevor Patterson will give a talk on the history of the church and graveyard, sharing fascinating stories from St. Nicholas’ long heritage in Dundalk.

The Harvest Songs of Praise and Thanksgiving Service will take place at 7.30 PM, celebrating 100 years of the Mothers’ Union in Dundalk.

St. Nicholas’ Parish Church says it is honoured to welcome The Most Rev’d Patricia Storey, Bishop of Meath and Kildare, as guest preacher for the evening. A supper in the Wellington Hall will follow the service – all are warmly invited.

This Harvest Weekend offers something for everyone – from families and children to those who love local history, music, and community life.

St. Nicholas’ Parish Church community say they hope many will join them as they give thanks for the blessings of the season and celebrate the life of its parish community together.
