Dundalk Dog Rescue (DDR) have been awarded ‘Best Presented Business Premises’ in the Dundalk Municipal District as part of Louth in Bloom 2025. The award was announced last night, with DDR emerging as a winner against stiff competition from many local businesses.
“We are absolutely thrilled and honoured to receive this award, it being our 20th Anniversary this year, making it all the sweeter” said a Edel Halpin spokesperson for Dundalk Dog Rescue. “Our volunteers put their hearts into everything they do — not only caring for the dogs but also creating a space that reflects the love and pride we have for our community. This win belongs to every single person who gives their time and energy to make Dundalk Dog Rescue what it is.”
A spokesperson for Dundalk Dog Rescue said: "This remarkable achievement highlights the dedication, teamwork, and community spirit that define Dundalk Dog Rescue. The volunteer-led organisation, best known for its tireless work rescuing and rehoming dogs, has also created a warm, welcoming, and beautifully maintained environment at its Rescue Centre.
"A huge well done to the entire DDR team, who all contribute to maintaining the grounds and facilities. Special recognition goes to two exceptional volunteers — Martin Muldoon, who designed, sourced, and planted the award-winning area, and Jenny Mills, whose ongoing dedication, hard work, and passion keep the grounds looking their very best week after week.
