A total of sixteen vehicles were seized across Louth on Thursday as part of a Garda operation targeting uninsured drivers.

Divisional Road Policing Units (RPU) from Dundalk and Drogheda conducted a coordinated operation aimed at detecting motorists driving without valid insurance. 

Gardaí confirmed that all sixteen drivers will be prosecuted before the district court.

In addition to the insurance offences, Gardaí also detected a number of other road traffic breaches, including drivers caught not wearing seat belts, using mobile phones while driving, and driving under the influence of drugs.
