Faughart gears up for festive ‘Light Up Your Yoke Run’ in support of local school

Faughart Community group have announced the launch of their “Light Up Your Yoke Run”  in aid of Faughart National School.

The fun event will see a convoy of tractors, jeeps and cars all illuminated with Christmas lights make its way around the Faughart area on Friday 5th of December with Santa leading the way. There will also be a few Santa stops where Santa will give out some selection boxes to local children.

The convoy will start at Major’s Hollow roundabout at 7pm and snake its way around Mountpleasant, Annaskeagh and Upper and Lower Faughart. Santa’s ‘pressie stops’ will be announced later.

Faughart Community Group are reaching out to all businesses in the area to ask for donations or prizes for their draw. Lines will be sold online and door to door, with all proceeds going to Faughart school. Lines are €2 each or three for €5.

The organising committee say: "This hardworking voluntary group would really appreciate your support for this fun event that will help bring a bit of light and joy to everyone this Christmas. You can decorate and light up your vehicle as much as you like but the more effort that’s put into it the more everyone will enjoy the spectacle."
