Motorists are advised to exercise caution, as surface water and reduced visibility could make driving conditions treacherous
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain and wind warning for Louth ahead of what’s expected to be a wet and blustery end to the week. The warnings, which come into effect on Friday afternoon, could bring localised flooding, poor visibility, and hazardous travel conditions across the region.
The rain warning for Louth is valid from 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 14th November, until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, 15th November, with heavy and persistent rainfall expected throughout the period.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution, as surface water and reduced visibility could make driving conditions treacherous, particularly during Friday evening’s rush hour and overnight.
In addition to the rain, a Status Yellow wind warning is also in place for Louth, Dublin, Wexford, and Wicklow, from midday Friday until 4:00 a.m. Saturday. Met Éireann warns of strong and gusty northeasterly winds, which could lead to fallen branches, wind-blown debris, and difficult driving conditions, especially for high-sided vehicles and those travelling near coastal areas.

While neighbouring counties Dublin and Wicklow are also under an Orange rain warning, Louth is expected to avoid the most extreme rainfall totals.
