Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man after a body was discovered in Dundalk, Co. Louth, this morning.
The deceased, a man in his 30s, was found shortly after 8:00am this morning, Thursday November 13th, outside a residential property at Dúiche Roden.
The Garda Technical Bureau is currently examining the scene, which remains sealed off at this time.
The office of the State Pathologist and the local Coroner have been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Dundalk Garda Station.
A Garda Family Liaison Officer is supporting the family of the deceased.
The results of the post-mortem will assist investigating Gardaí in determining the course of the investigation, a garda spokesperson said.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from those who were in the Dúiche Roden or Demesne Road areas of Dundalk overnight.
