The Dundalk Road Policing Unit, together with HGV inspectors from the Road Safety Authority, carried out vehicle inspections yesterday.
While most vehicles were found to be in good condition, one HGV required an immediate tyre change before it could continue its journey.
Gardaí reminded drivers to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy before setting off, highlighting the importance of tyres, “as that small patch of rubber keeps you on the road.”
