Connolly's Field in Dundalk
Louth County Council expects the apartment development at Connolly's Field in Dundalk to be completed and delivered before Christmas, councillors were told at the Dundalk Municipal District November meeting.
Cllr Marianne Butler raised the matter at the November meeting, enquiring as to when the development would see people moving in.
The development will see the provision of 51 one bed apartments and 19 two bed apartments and is being provided by the Approved Housing Body (AHB), FOLD Housing, in partnership with Louth County Council.
Cllr Butler told the meeting that she was receiving calls “all the time” about Connolly's Field. “It was supposed to be May initially, we're in November and we're trying to say to people, you might be in before Christmas."

Asking what the delay was in completing the handover, Cllr Butler added, "People don't understand why it's still lying empty when there are so many people who have been notionally told that they are being put forward but not formally put forward for it."
Replying to Cllr Butler, Declan Grimes, Senior Engineer with Louth County Council, said that delivery is expected "very shortly".
Mr Grimes said that there was a "few technical issues to be resolved in terms of contracts" and that they do expect it to be completed before Christmas, but added that "at this stage I don't think there will be allocations before Christmas", as "people do not like to move in December".
He further added that "the important thing is it will be delivered before year end", and that there are already "54 potential applicants or potential nominations, so then the rest [will be on] on the CBL portal."
