Louth has seen a rise in the number of people signing on the Live Register, compared to the same month last year, according to the latest figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
6,839 people signed on in Louth in November 2025. This is up by 51 on the 6,788 who signed on in the county in November 2024. It is down on a monthly basis however, with 137 fewer signing on in November than the 6,976 who signed on in October 2025.
On a local basis, Dundalk saw an annual decrease, with 3,089 signing on in November 2025 compared to 3,122 in November 2024, a fall of 33. On a monthly basis it has also fallen, with 64 fewer signing on than the 3,153 who signed on in October.
Ardee also saw both a monthly fall, with 657 signing on in November, down from 680 in October, and also down from 673 in November 2024.

In Drogheda, 3,093 people signed on in November, down from 3,143 in October, but up from 2,993 in November 2024.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted Live Register total for November 2025 was 167,800 people, down by 1,400 people from October 2025.
The unadjusted Live Register total stood at 162,305 people for November 2025, of which 56.5% were male and 71.5% were Irish. This is an increase of 4,038 people or 2.6% when compared with November 2024.
The 25-34 years age group made up the largest number of those on the Live Register in November 2025 at 38,629 people or 23.8% of the total.
The counties that recorded the largest percentage increases in the number of people on the Live Register in the 12 months to November 2025 were Dublin (+10.0%) and Limerick (+7.1%), while the largest decreases were in Monaghan (-5.3%) and Donegal (-4.2%).
In November 2025, there were 109,507 people on the Live Register for less than one year, which was 7,682 more people (+7.5%) than in November 2024.
