Tholsel junction in Drogheda will remain closed as engineers work to address safety concerns with several buildings
Louth County Council has confirmed that the Tholsel junction in Drogheda will remain closed as engineers work to address safety concerns with several buildings.
In a statement, the Council said that they continue to liaise with Drogheda BIDS, who are responsible for the installation, management, and removal of Christmas lighting in the town, and with the owners of the affected buildings at the Tholsel crossroads to rectify the matter as safely and quickly as possible.
The statement continued:
“Following inspections by a council engineer, Dangerous Structure/Place Notices are being issued to properties on Peter Street and Laurence Street, which continue to pose a risk to public safety.
“On engineering advice, the junction at the Tholsel is expected to remain closed until Wednesday, 10th December, at the latest, and scaffolding with safety screening is scheduled to be erected to enable safe access and repairs.
