Elizabeth Redmond is a comic and author from Houston, Texas, who now calls Dundalk her home. After moving back to Ireland she jumped back into the comedy scene after years of doing stand up across the pond, and has been making people all over Ireland laugh ever since.

She is also the brains behind Dundalk’s El Paso Comedy Club, which regularly hosts Comedy nights in Toales Rock Bar and Music Venue.

If you enjoy dark humour, impressions, silly accents, getting yelled at in foreign languages, maternal trauma, bitter ex husbands, and thinly veiled murder threats, her act is for you.

She has also written a self-published novel set during the Mexican Revolution, and runs a coffee truck on the Dublin-Dundalk Road.

LUST: Who or what do you find yourself lusting after today and why?

  1. This is such a boring vanilla answer but, my fiancé. He’s my catnip. Isn’t that disgusting?

GREED: What should you be cutting down on (non-food or drink) and why?

  1. Definitely screen time. It’s awful. It’s become a necessity for so many of us, if you ever want to promote anything, you have to have an online social media presence and sure enough that means staring at your phone. I can’t handle another app. I can’t!!

GLUTTONY: What one thing could you happily eat or drink until you burst, and why?

  1. Cheese. I could eat it at every meal. I’m a cheesatarian.

SLOTH: What should you be putting your back into now and why?

  1. I put my back into everything, especially lately. Between the novel I wrote (The Final Resting Place of a Butterfly, available on Amazon), running El Paso Comedy, stand up comedy and the businesses I run ...people are slightly worried. I could use some sloth actually. I’m very good at relaxing when I stop. It’s getting me to stop, that's the issue.

WRATH: Who or what makes you angry and why?

  1. Less and less makes me angry because I recognise most people who act badly just can’t help themselves and as long as they stay the hell away from me fine. That being said, entitled people, who act like actual tantrum throwing spoiled brats….. oooof. People who cause trouble, try to start things, pick fights etc. That’s my big one. I won’t start anything…. But I will damn sure finish it.

ENVY: Who are you jealous of and why?

  1. I don’t envy anyone…. except for my 21 year old self’s body and metabolism…oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I can wipe my tears on the pictures.

PRIDE: What’s your proudest achievement and why?

  1. My proudest personal achievement is raising two amazing , well rounded and happy children all on my own. My proudest achievement outside of my kids is definitely taking on a novel. I wanted to write a book, I finished it, I self published and it’s been well received. It’s the semi true story of my maternal great grandmother and how she ended up in Mexico City during the Mexican Revolution. I’m proud of the things I have set out to do that I continue to check off my little bucket list. I wanted to get to the end of my life and look back and say I did everything I said I was going to do.
