There was a significant rise in the third quarter of 2025 in the number of incidents recorded in Louth, of road traffic offences in relation to motor insurance
There was a significant rise in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025 in the number of incidents recorded in the Louth Garda Division of road traffic offences in relation to motor insurance, according to the latest figures released just before Christmas by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).
According to the CSO release, Recorded Crime Q3 2025, 96 incidents in relation to “Insurance failure to have, produce, display, etc”, were recorded in the Louth Garda Division in Q3 2025.
It is up from 65 incidents in Quarter 2 (Q2) and also up from Q3 in 2024, when 79 incidents were recorded in the Louth Garda Division.
There was also a slight rise in the number of incidents in relation to “Driving licence-failure to have, produce, etc” in Louth in Q3, with 21 incidents recorded, up from 16 in Q2 2025, and also up slightly on the 19 recorded in Q3 2024.
There was a slight fall however, in the number of incidents of “Driving/in charge of a vehicle while over legal alcohol limit” in the Louth Garda Division in Q3 2025.

43 incidents of the offence were recorded in Louth in the third quarter of last year, down from 54 in the second quarter, and 50 in the first quarter of 2025.
It is up however, on the same quarter the previous year, when 26 incidents were recorded in Louth.
