An oak Jockey scales by Youngs of London from Headford House in Kells is set to feature at the St. Martin’s auction
The lifetime collection of iconic publican, hotelier and businessman, Gerry Brady, who ran hospitality business in Meath and Louth, is set to spark the interest of collectors and interior designers as the contents of his family home c to auction.
The contents of St Martin’s, Trim, consisting of a 500 items across a 60-year collection of furniture, art, porcelain, glass, and pub memorabilia, valued in excess of €100,000, is set to be sold in one night.
The auction, curated and hosted by legendary auctioneer Niall Mullen, takes place Tuesday January 27, online only, at Easylive auction under the Gormley Art Auctions section.
Viewing of the contents will take place at St Martin’s from January 23-27.
Gerry ran a successful hospitality business in Meath and Louth, including such iconic premises as The Weavers and The Pheasant pubs in Drogheda and the Wellington Court Hotel, Trim, as well as the Leinster Arms, Maynooth, and the family have retained ownership of many flagship premises across the counties.

The contents of his home were furnished thanks to a life-long hobby of attending Irish auctions with his late wife, Phyllis.
The furniture spans design eras, including exquisite pieces across the Victorian, Edwardian and Regency periods, all the way up to Art Nouveau.
Key items of note include a crouching marble statue of Venus from Humewood Castle formerly of the Hume family, and an oak Jockey scales by Youngs of London from Headford House in Kells.
