May they rest in peace

The death has occurred of Barbara Farrell (née Hearty) of Little Mills, Dundalk, Co Louth

Peacefully, in the dedicated care of the staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by her baby daughter Gráinne and parents Charles and Brenda. She will be sadly missed and deeply regretted by her sorrowing daughters and son Lyndsey (Dunne), Fiona and Niall and their father Niall, Lyndsey’s husband Darren, Fiona’s partner Gavin, Niall’s partner Dearbhla, grandchildren Liam, Cillian, Holly, Dylan and Tommy, brothers Niall and Brendan, sisters-in-law Maria and Jo, nieces, nephews, her extended family and friends.

Barbara’s funeral has taken place privately.

The death has occurred of Niall Fitzpatrick of Bachelors Walk, Dundalk, Co Louth

Peacefully, on Tuesday 17 March 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Kitty, and brothers Michael and Martin. Niall will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his sister Ann Connor, brother-in-law Tom, nephew David, nieces Aileen and Katie, extended family and his many friends and fellow musicians.

The death has occurred of Geraldine McDermott (née Matthews) of Marshalrath, Dunleer, Co Louth

Unexpectedly but peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda surrounded by her family. Geraldine, beloved wife and best friend of Joe and loving mother of Christine, Paul and Helen. Predeceased by her parents Matthew and Mary, brothers Fintan, Oliver, Cyril and Kieran and sisters Marie and Cecilia.
Sadly missed by her husband, son, daughters, sister Angela, brothers Paddy, Liam and Fr. Jimmy S.C.J., brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, her adored grandchildren Amber and Karl, son-in-law Mark and Paul’s partner Rachael, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.

Reposing at Connor’s Funeral Home, Dunleer on Thursday from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 12 noon in Saint Brigid's Church, Dunleer. Burial afterwards in Mosstown Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, in lieu to Daffodil Day. House private on Friday morning please.
