Dundalk Courthouse
A 35-year-old man who stole €55 worth of steak from a local Dunnes Stores, has been given a one month suspended sentence at Dundalk district court.
Cairon Austin Hill with an address at the Simon Community, Barrack Street, Dundalk pleaded guilty to the theft at the Marshes Shopping Centre store on February 28th last.
The court heard he had eight previous convictions, but none for a similar offence.
The Defence solicitor said his client, who is homeless, is originally from America and his partner had passed away last year.
Judge Nicola Andrews imposed a one month sentence, which she suspended for 12 months and directed that the defendant stays out of the Marshes Shopping Centres and all Dunnes Stores in County Louth during that period.
