Some of the showers will be heavy with a chance of hail and thunder, before becoming more isolated in the evening.

Lingering rain and drizzle in the east will soon clear into the Irish Sea on Thursday morning and the rest of the day will bring a mix of sunny spells and scattered blustery showers.

Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coldest in the north and east, with mainly light southwest winds backing south to southeast overnight and freshening near Atlantic coasts towards morning.
