TG4 brings viewers an inspiring and emotional sporting documentary, ‘Lú Abú – The Louth LGFA Story’, airing on Saturday 18 April at 18:25.

This compelling programme goes behind the scenes with the Louth Ladies Gaelic Football team, led by captain Áine Breen, as they pursue glory in the 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship.

From the earliest days of the campaign, the Wee County set their sights firmly on a return to Croke Park for All-Ireland Final day, driven by the disappointment of their defeat to Fermanagh in the 2024 final, and determined to go one step further this time around.

Lú Abú offers exclusive access to the squad’s journey, capturing the intensity of training sessions, the tactical preparation, and the unwavering commitment required to compete at the highest level.

The programme follows the team in the crucial lead-up to the final, providing viewers with a rare insight into the mindset and unity that drives elite inter-county players.

At the heart of the journey is a shared ambition: to lift the West County Hotel Cup on the steps of the Hogan Stand as All-Ireland Junior Champions. The documentary captures not only the pursuit of that dream, but the collective belief and resilience that fuels it.

The programme also captures the full match-day experience, from the build-up and anticipation to the drama on the pitch. It tells the human story behind the occasion, highlighting the emotions of players, management, and the loyal supporters who travel in hope and pride to stand behind their county.

Through exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, Lú Abú paints a vivid and authentic picture of what it truly means to represent your county on the biggest stage in Ladies football.

Since filming Louth LGFA have continued their upward curve in 2026, capturing the Lidl National League Division 3 title last Saturday, having already sealed promotion to Division 2 for the 2027 season.

Produced by AIG Ireland, proud official insurance partner of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, this documentary is a celebration of dedication, resilience, and community spirit.
