Dundalk Tidy Towns launch week-long spring clean

Dundalk's Market Square

As spring begins, communities often mark the season with local initiatives focused on renewal and improvement. In Dundalk, this includes the annual Dundalk Tidy Towns Spring Clean 2026, a key community-led effort aimed at enhancing the local environment.

This April, Dundalk Tidy Towns will once again take part in An Taisce’s National Spring Clean, Ireland’s largest anti-litter campaign. Running throughout the month, this nationwide initiative encourages communities across the country to come together and take action against litter, helping to create cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments for everyone.

Dundalk will mark the campaign with a full week of organised litter picks from April 18th to April 25th, and everyone is invited to participate. Whether you’re an individual, part of a local group, a business, school, or residents’ association, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in your area.

All litter picks will last approximately one hour, and all equipment will be provided—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to help!

If your organisation would like to arrange a clean-up in your own area, Dundalk Tidy Towns, please get in touch at dundalktidytowns@gmail.com.

Their efforts have been widely recognised, earning them numerous awards.  They have also contributed to local biodiversity by opening a Bird Observatory on the Navvy Bank—an important ecological asset for the region.
