The Fireside Sessions return to Toales, Dundalk this Thursday 16th April at 9pm with a sharp double bill, as Pat Carter and local duo Syd & Kyle both make their debut appearances.
As always, admission is free, with the focus firmly on intimate, stripped-back performances.
Berlin-based singer-songwriter Pat Carter, the driving force behind Americana outfit Rodeo FM, brings his blend of left-leaning country, folk picking and lyrical bite to the fireside, diving into themes of disconnection, emotional strain and the pressures of modern life, balancing protest and reflection with a gritty, melodic edge.

Joining him are Dundalk’s Syd & Kyle, a rising local duo earning attention for their natural chemistry and no-frills acoustic sound.
Now a staple of the local scene, the Fireside Sessions continue to deliver close-up, no-nonsense live music — where the songs do the talking.

Dundalk’s live music scene is set to strike a powerful chord this April as The Big Busk 2026 lands in Toales for two packed nights of homegrown talent, all in aid of Focus Ireland.
Taking place on Thursday, April 17 and Friday, April 18, the event brings together a diverse lineup of rising acts and established local names, turning the spotlight on original music while supporting a vital cause.
With a €5 entry fee going directly toward tackling homelessness, it’s a gig with real purpose behind it.
Night one, Friday April 17, features local act The Dundalk Dolls, showcasing their superbly crafted songs, soaring harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics, while Dublin/Drogheda-based funk rock power trio Disko Volante bring their energy, attitude, and a fresh edge back to Toales.
Rounding out the night are Stoat, known for their genre-blending sound that fuses indie-pop with hints of ska, sea shanty, and rock!
The following night, Saturday April 18, keeps the pace high with the truly unique Dundalk singer/songwriter and Toales' favourite Ocean’s Myth, new local indie trio Sockeye, and Northern Irish songstress Silhouette, bringing her high-energy alternative pop laced with flavours of darkness, hope and desire.
Kicking off at 8pm each night in Toales, The Big Busk continues to cement itself as more than just another gig—it’s a celebration of Dundalk’s thriving music community and its willingness to come together for something bigger.
