Last week revenue officials seized drugs with a combined value of €361,000 destined for county Louth and Dublin.

As part of routine operations and with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Bailey, Revenue officers examining parcels at two premises in Dublin seized 17kgs of herbal cannabis and 1kg of cannabis resin with a combined estimated value of more than €361,000.

The illegal drugs were discovered in parcels declared as ‘Christmas gifts’, ‘food’ and ‘shoes’, that originated in the United States, Canada, Spain and Italy, and were destined for addresses in Counties Louth and Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.

These seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs.
