A tradition that started 60 years ago was back this year with members and friends of Dowdallshill GFC making Christmas morning run to St Oliver’s Hospital on the Dublin Road.
The annual Christmas run had been unable to take place for the last three years due to Covid 19 restrictions.
However, this Christmas morning a large group of club members made their way through the town before arriving at St Oliver’s to partake in some Christmas songs with those gathered and give out gifts.
Chairman of Dowdallshill GFC Seamus Kellan also presented a chewue for €1,300 to JoanMcCourt, Assistant Director of Nursing at St Oliver's nursing home on Christmas morning.
Our photographer Arthur Kinahan was on hand to capture one of the town’s oldest - and finest - traditions.
