King Charles Land Rover Defender set to fetch up to £50,000 at auction

A Land Rover Defender 90 once owned by King Charles and Queen Camilla is set to head under the hammer at auction.

Owned by the then-Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the vehicle in question is a 2010 Defender 90, finished off in Keswick Green with a charcoal grey interior, and will be sold via classic car auction house Iconic Auctioneers next month.

The Defender is a basic specification, but it does come with a few creature comforts including heated front seats, and heated front and rear screens.

The vehicle has covered just 24,595 miles and features a variety of documentation to back up its Royal history, including a confirmation letter addressed to Tim Williams, the head chauffeur to the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. A service book is present to show work carried out by M.J. Fews Land Rover and Wooton-under-Edge Highgrove’s Land Rover specialists, too.

This Defender 90 has formed part of a small royal vehicle collection and has been cared for with no expense spared with its maintenance, according to the auction house.

The auction for this very special piece of royal motoring history will take place at the NEC in Birmingham on March 22. Prices are estimated to fetch between £43,000 to £50,000.
