Kia’s Stonic has received a heavy makeover to keep it looking fresh against rivals such as the Hyundai Kona and Seat Arona.
This new model gets Kia’s new ‘Opposites United’ design language with a more prominent front ‘nostril’, redesigned front and rear bumpers and vertical front headlights. Other changes include fresh alloy wheel designs, sculpted rear taillights and two new exterior paint colours – Adventurous Green and Yacht Blue.
Inside, there are now two 12.3-inch screens, one for the digital driver’s display and the other for the infotainment system, while there is the choice of two and three-spoke steering wheel designs as well as a redesigned centre console, dashboard and gear lever.
Under the bonnet, there is the option of a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 98bhp and 172Nm of torque, while power is transmitted through to a six-speed manual gearbox. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is available as an option.
There is also a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that boasts mild-hybrid technology, which bumps power up to 113bhp with the same 172Nm of torque, while a choice of manual and automatic transmissions is also available.
Prices and specifications for the UK market will be revealed in due course, with the car expected to go on sale at the beginning of next year.
