Kia EV2 to make world debut at Brussels Motor Show next month

Kia has announced that its new compact EV2 will make its world debut at next month’s Brussels Motor Show.

The EV2 will be the firm’s smallest electric vehicle and will be going up against the likes of the Renault 5 and Hyundai Inster.

A few images of the car under a cover suggest that the vehicle’s styling will use Kia’s new ‘Opposites United’ design language and ‘star map’ lighting signature with vertical headlights, while the side profile features a kick-up rear window, a rear spoiler and vertical taillights.

Interior images of the car will be revealed next month, but we do know that the car will come with electric power and will sit below the firm’s EV3 compact SUV.

Marc Hedrich, president and CEO of Kia Europe, said: “Designed, developed and soon to be produced in Europe, we are confident that the EV2 will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of responsible mobility across the region.”

Kia will also use next year’s show to unveil hot ‘GT’ variants of the EV3, EV4 and EV5 models, which will all gain tweaked powertrains, enhanced exterior and interior styling features and will sit alongside the EV6 GT and EV9 GT.

The EV2 will make its world debut on January 9 in Brussels alongside Kia’s new GT models, with details on UK pricing, specifications and orders to be announced in due course.
