Toyota Corolla range tweaked for 2026

The Toyota Corolla range will receive some tweaks and updates for next year’s model line-up.

The Corolla is one of the world’s best-selling cars, having sold more than 50m units since it first went on-sale in 1966, and the latest version is built in Burnaston, Derbyshire, UK.

The Honda Civic rival will receive a choice of new exterior colours including a grey matt paint option on the GR Sport models, while a new Dark Grey metallic option will be available for the rest of the Corolla range.

Inside, the Corolla’s interior now features Samara upholstery, which is a hard-wearing fabric material made from recycled plastics, and will be featured in the entry-level Icon trim.

All models will now come with a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and there is the option of the ‘digital pack’, which includes a 10.5-inch touchscreen display and satellite navigation.

In terms of powertrains, the hybrid engines remain the same as before with the choice of a 1.8-litre petrol engine mated to an electric motor that produces a total of 120bhp and 142Nm of torque, while there is a punchier 2.0-litre petrol mated to an electric motor that develops 176bhp and 190Nm of torque.

The Corolla is available as a five-door hatch, or there is a more practical five-door Touring Sports estate, which offers a boot capacity of 596 litres on the 1.8-litre model and 581 litres in 2.0-litre guise.

Prices for the updated Corolla range will be revealed in due course with the car expected to go on-sale early next year.
