The Cupra Tavascan has received several updates to its model line-up including a new entry-level powertrain.
The Tavascan is Cupra’s flagship coupe-esque electric SUV and rivals cars such as the Volkswagen ID.5 and Skoda Enyaq Coupe.
Underneath, the Tavascan can be specified with a new 58kWh battery pack and electric motor to produce 187bhp, while the manufacturer claims the car can travel a distance of 270 miles between charges.
Inside, there is a new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, while a new steering with physical buttons replace the old haptic feedback switches that help make the user experience more intuitive.
The infotainment system is new and is powered by an Android system along with an integrated app store and smartphone connectivity.
The electric air vents are designed to activate before the driver enters the vehicle; pre-circulating air as the key is detected near the vehicle to make the cabin the right temperature for occupants.
In terms of colours, the Tavascan can now be ordered with a new shade of ‘Midnight Black’ paint, while a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function enables electrical appliances such as a hairdryer to be plugged in using the car’s battery.
Prices and further specification details have not been revealed at this stage. The updated Cupra Tavascan is expected to go on sale later this year.
