Cupra has announced that the Raval electric hatchback will make its world debut on April 9.
The Raval forms part of a new quartet of EVs that will sit on the Volkswagen Group’s new ‘MEB+’ electric vehicle platform.
The Raval will be Cupra’s smallest model and will be a sportier alternative to the new Volkswagen ID.Polo.
Cupra has not confirmed final powertrain details, but there will be a hot ‘VZ’ model with an electric motor that produces 226bhp and 290Nm of torque, while it will have a claimed electric range of up to 249 miles between charges.
The Raval VZ also boasts a limited-slip differential for better cornering abilities and 15mm lowered suspension.
Exterior and interior details have not been revealed at this stage, though it’s anticipated that the Raval will continue to use lots of copper-coloured trim, sharp lines and 19-inch wheels fitted to the VZ model.
It’s also expected to feature more physical buttons located on its steering wheel and shortcut dials on the dashboard to make the user experience more intuitive and driver-focused.
Further information on the car’s exterior, interior and technical details will be revealed when the covers come off the Cupra Raval next month.
