Kia EV2 goes on sale priced at £27,995

Kia has announced that the EV2 has gone on sale with prices starting at £27,995.

The EV2 is Kia’s smallest electric model and will sit in the competitive B-segment electric crossover segment, rivalling the Ford Puma Gen-E and Renault 4.

There will be four trim levels from launch: ‘Air’, ‘First Edition’, GT-Line and GT-Line S, as well as the option of 42.2kWh and 61kWh battery packs.

The ‘Air’ comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, a six-speaker audio system and LED headlights. The ‘First Edition’ is priced from £28,495 and boasts 18-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass and a 15-litre frunk. The GT-Line model comes in at £32,745 and adds 19-inch alloy wheels, GT-Line exterior styling and gloss black door mirrors.

The top-of-the-range GT-Line S starts at £36,345 and includes a tilt and slide sunroof, ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate and a Harman Kardon eight-speaker premium sound system.

Kia will announce soon the EV2’s eligibility for the government’s Electric Vehicle Grant, with the 61kWh variants anticipated to receive the full £3,750 incentive, taking the starting price down to £24,245 for the ‘Air’ model and £32,595 for the GT-Line S.

Meanwhile, the smaller 42.2kWh model is expected to receive a price cut of up to £1,500, coming in at £26,995.

Orders are open now with deliveries expected to commence later this year.
