A customised Harley-Davidson that played a starring role in the 2023 Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny film is heading under the hammer at auction later this month.
Originally owned by Pinewood Studios, the 2016 Softail Slim was customised to resemble a 1960s New York Police Department Electra Glide model to keep it within the film’s time period.
With its police-style livery and additional detailing, the bike played a central role in several New York City scenes that were actually filmed on location in Glasgow. In the movie, the bike was ridden by actor Boyd Holbrook in his role as Klaber.
The Harley will go up at auction on April 19 during the Iconic Auctioneers’ Iconic Motorcycle Sale at Shuttleworth, Bedfordshire, alongside 150 other classic, modern and retro motorcycles.
Mark Bryan, Motorcycle Manager at Iconic Auctioneers, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a genuine piece of film history with documented provenance direct from Pinewood Studios. What makes this bike particularly appealing is that it sits at an accessible estimate, opening the door to a wide range of enthusiasts.”
This particular bike carries 7,000 miles and is accompanied by full documentation, including a Pinewood Studios invoice and a variety of original parts used during filming. It’s registered in the UK and has its full V5C documentation, making it a slice of movie history that can also be used on the roads. It’s accompanied by an estimate of between £8,000 and £10,000.
