Kia has expanded its electric PV5 line-up with a new Crew model that aims to bring a blend of passenger and cargo vans.
The new Crew comes converted directly from the factory, with a one-touch seat lever configuration allowing owners to quickly switch between two-seat cargo and five-seater crew layouts quickly and easily.
In five-seat mode, the PV5 Crew offers up to 1,278mm of loading area, to 1,965mm in two-seat configuration, alongside a maximum payload of 625kg. With a 51.5kWh battery, the Crew has a claimed range of up to 176 miles between charges, too.
Erhan Eren, PBV Director at Kia Europe, said: “Many operators require vehicles that can support crew and cargo within the same working cycle. The PV5 Crew addresses this directly through a configurable interior system that enables fast transitions without slowing down daily operations.”
Beneath the seats, there’s an L-track mounting system which secures additional cargo to keep it secure when the van is in motion. The PV5 Crew also gets vehicle-to-load outlets throughout the cabin to allow quick access to power for external devices. It also means that owners can recharge batteries for drills or other tools while on the move. The floor of the van is also coated in a non-slip material to make things safer overall.
The new PV5 Crew will go into production at the end of this month, with further details and pricing announced shortly after.
