Lexus has revealed prices and specifications of the ES electric saloon ahead of its on-sale date later this year.
The ES is a premium four-door saloon that is a left-field choice among British buyers, taking on cars such as the BMW i5.
The latest model will be available in three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus and Takumi.
The Premium car comes in at £59,345 and includes lots of standard kit such as a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a 14-inch infotainment system, electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a panoramic sunroof.
The mid-level Premium Plus is yours for £68,245 and adds a digital rear view mirror, a 17-speaker Mark Levinson premium sound system, a head-up display and twin wireless smartphone chargers.
The flagship Takumi is priced at £72,545 and boasts heated and ventilated reclining rear seats, 21-inch alloy wheels, rear side and back sunshades as well as a rear centre console with control panel for the seating and ventilation system.
Powering the car is a 77kWh battery pack with a single electric motor driving the front wheels to make 221bhp and can hit 60mph in 7.8 seconds.
Lexus claims the car can travel up to 329 miles on a single charge and that 150kW DC rapid-charging will be compatible, taking a 10 to 80 per cent charge in 28 minutes.
Orders will open on May 1 and deliveries are expected to commence in June this year.
