Honda has announced that the Super-N electric city car will go on sale in the UK in July.
The Super-N is the successor to the firm’s ‘E’ electric supermini and takes inspiration from the Honda City Turbo II hot hatch from the 1980s.
Honda has not revealed the size of the battery at this stage, but it has confirmed it will have a claimed range of up to 128 miles or 199 miles in city driving.
The exterior of the car uses the same body shape as the Japan-only Honda N-One:e electric kei car, though the Super-N has flared wheel arches, larger bumpers, a rear spoiler and weighs just 1,097kg.
Inside, the inspiration from the City Turbo II is apparent with the thick-bolstered seats, blue-highlighted trim, lots of physical buttons and a two-spoke steering wheel.
The Super-N features a ‘Boost’ button, which is designed to increase the car’s power and unlock the simulated seven-speed transmission through the ‘Active Sound Control System’, to make the driving experience more engaging.
The car also has had its suspension and chassis tuned by Honda’s engineers to improve the driving dynamics.
Honda has not revealed prices at this stage, though it’s anticipated to start at under £20,000 when orders open in June.
