Rolls-Royce reveals the first of its Coachbuild Collection with ‘Project Nightingale’

Rolls-Royce has taken the covers off its first creation under the Coachbuild Collection series with the ‘Project Nightingale.’

The Project Nightingale has been inspired by Rolls-Royces of the 1920s with the 16EX and 17EX models.

The car’s exterior proportions measure the same 5.76 metres as the firm’s flagship Phantom saloon, though the Project Nightingale features a two-seat configuration. At the front, there is a front grille made from a solid block of stainless steel with 24 vanes in its construction, while the vertical front headlamps and taillights form part of the car’s side profile’s polished solid-steel bands that run the full length of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the car’s 24-inch wheels – the largest fitted to any Rolls-Royce – have been inspired by the propellers on a yacht from beneath the water.

The cabin is complemented by what Rolls-Royce calls the ‘Starlight Breeze suite’, which consists of 10,500 individual stars in three varied sizes.

The leather on the door cards are overlaid as a raised section to mimic a crafted saddle, while this motif continues onto the centre console in a leather-covered saddle armrest, which is split into two pieces, aligning the Coachline that runs the length of the bonnet, through the cabin to the rear central brake light of the car.

The Project Nightingale comes equipped with an electric powertrain; however, Rolls-Royce has not revealed powertrain details at this stage.

Just 100 examples of the Project Nightingale are set to be produced, and will be available by invitation only to Rolls-Royce’s most loyal customers.
