New Seltos set to expand Kia’s SUV line-up

Kia will bring its Seltos to Europe for the first time later this year, having previously only sold it in other markets such as America.

Now into its second generation, the Seltos sits in the competitive C-SUV segment, rivalling the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Nissan Qashqai and Renault Austral.

Launching in hybrid-only form, the Seltos will sit alongside other Kia SUVs such as the Sportage. At just over 4.3 metres long, the Seltos is slightly shorter than the Sportage, and narrower, too. With a 1.6-litre petrol engine at its heart, the hybrid Seltos will be available in both two- and four-wheel-drive with 152bhp and 176bhp respectively.

However, it has been designed with family buyers in mind, which is why it brings a large, roomy interior and a 536-litre boot, as well as a ‘AddGear’ accessory system which allows users to attach ‘modular storage accessories’ to keep items organised. The rear seats will also get a reclining feature and be adjustable by 24 degrees to help occupants to get comfortable.

A high level of standard equipment will also be included with the Seltos, bringing features such as a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 5.3-inch climate readout on all versions. A broad range of assistance systems, incorporating functions such as lane following assist and forward collision-avoidance assist will also come equipped on all models.

Kia has confirmed that UK specifications for the Seltos will be announced in the third quarter of the year, ahead of first deliveries towards the end of 2026.
