The Toyota Yaris Cross has received a midlife makeover, introducing a new look with updated trim levels.
The Yaris Cross is Toyota’s smallest SUV and comes exclusively with an ultra-efficient hybrid powertrain.
Externally, the car gains a new body-coloured honeycomb-mesh-patterned grille, redesigned LED headlights and new alloy wheel designs.
There is a choice of fresh colour schemes with ‘Precious Bronze’ with a Bi-Tone contrasting black roof and ‘Persian Salt’, which replaces ‘Shimmering Silver.’
Inside, there is a platinum-coloured insert found on the door card and instrument binnacle, while Design grade models come with sports seats with better lateral support. The seat materials are finished off with a matching platinum colour insert alongside contrasting three-tone stitching.
All models now come with power-folding door mirrors as standard, while the Design grade features ambient interior lighting and a wireless phone charger. The flagship Excel trim also boasts a powered tailgate, too.
The GR Sport variant will sit between Design and Excel. It features sports suspension, GR Sport 18-inch alloy wheels and unique exterior and interior enhancements.
Toyota has dropped the lower-powered 114bhp hybrid setup and made the more powerful unit the only option. It’s a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to an electric motor that produces 129bhp and 185Nm of torque, while returning a claimed 58.8mpg.
Prices for the revised Yaris Cross range have not been revealed at this stage, though orders will open in the autumn.
