British music stars Charli XCX and Raye to perform at Grammy Awards

British singers Charli XCX and Raye are among the music stars who will perform at the 2025 Grammy Awards ceremony, it has been announced.

This year’s show is dedicated to wildfire relief after the wind-driven blazes that swept through parts of Los Angeles this month, destroying neighbourhoods and killing at least 28 people.

The announcement comes after alternative pop singer Charli XCX, real name Charlotte Aitchison, led the pack at the Brit Awards nominations on Thursday with five nods.

Last year’s Brit Awards ceremony saw R&B singer Raye, full name Rachel Keen, make history when she took home six gongs – the most awarded to an artist in a single year.

The Recording Academy has also announced that chart-topping pop stars Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish and Chappell Roan are billed to perform.

Colombian singer Shakira, rapper Doechii, Beautiful Things singer Benson Boone, and US singer Teddy Swims round out the line-up.

Charli XCX’s infectious electronic-pop tracks soared up the charts after she released her sixth studio album Brat in 2024, which inspired a trend that became a lifestyle, rather than just an aesthetic.

People across the world embraced the “brat summer” cultural movement, which promoted self-love, positive body image and sultry style choices – including a lot of neon green in honour of the album’s cover.

The singer has eight Grammy nominations and Brat is up for album of the year as well as best dance/electronic album, while her song 360 is up for record of the year and best music video.

Raye will compete with breakout star Roan in the new artist category and is also nominated for songwriter of the year (non-classical).

The 67th Grammy Awards show is taking place on Sunday February 2.
