Mumford And Sons to return to UK as they announce ‘intimate’ 2025 world tour

Folk pop band Mumford And Sons have announced an “intimate” 2025 world tour, including a performance in the UK.

March’s Intimate Global Club Tour will be the first time the band have toured in the UK since 2019, having last performed in the country at Victorious Festival in Portsmouth in 2023.

The British band will play the O2 Forum Kentish Town on March 11 on the nine-date tour, which also includes stops in Australia, France and Canada.

It comes after the band announced their first album in seven years, Rushmere, which will be released on March 28, after banjoist and lead guitarist Winston Marshall, the son of GB News owner Sir Paul Marshall, quit the group in 2021.

The 37-year-old said his departure was a “difficult decision first brought about by an unintentional Twitter storm”, after he faced backlash for tweeting about US writer Andy Ngo’s book titled Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan To Destroy Democracy.

In a tweet, which he later deleted, Marshall said he had read the book and praised Ngo as a “brave man”.

Beginning their career in 2007, the band has had five UK top 40 singles and two UK number one albums, they are best known for tracks such as I Will Wait, Believe and Little Lion Man.

The band has won two Grammy Awards and two Brit Awards, with their current line-up made up of singer Marcus Mumford, bassist Ted Dwane and multi-instrumentalist Ben Lovett.

Members of Agora, the band’s fan community, will have priority access to tickets for the tour from February 13.

Remaining tickets will be available through a general sale from 10am on February 14.
