Maia Loftus Amigo, 14, has been located 'safe and well'
An urgent public appeal for help in locating a teenage girl who was reported missing at the weekend has been stood down, gardai have confirmed.
The appeal was issued this Monday morning - almost 48 hours after Maia Loftus Amigo was last seen at her home at Togher in Cork city.
In an update, issued this Monday evening, gardai confirmed the search has been stood down as Maia has been located.
"Maia Loftus Amigo has been located safe and well. No further media action is required," said a spokesperson who added: "An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance."
No information has been disclosed publicly as to how and where the teenager was located.
