Search for 16-year-old girl missing from her home in Dublin stood down, gardai confirm

Emily McCabe has been found 'safe and well'

Appeals for help in locating a 16-year-old girl who was reported missing from her home in Dublin over the weekend have been stood down, gardai have confirmed.

Assistance was publicly sought late on Sunday night with gardai saying there were concerns for the wellbeing of Emily McCabe.

The teenager, who lives in the Dublin 9 area, was reported as missing earlier on Sunday - sparking a major alert and searches in the locality.

However, in an update posted on social media, gardai confirmed there has been a positive outcome and that the searches have now been stood down.

"Emily has been found safe and well" read the update on Facebook.

Gardai have not publicly disclosed any further information regarding the circumstances which led to the 16-year-old being located.

They have also thanked members of the public for their assistance.
