More than 100 newly- attested gardaí will take up duty in the coming weeks after they were officially sworn in as members of the force at a ceremony in Templemore on Friday. on Friday.

The latest members of An Garda Síochána were recruited as part of the 2022/2023 recruitment campaign and commenced their training in December 2023. Since they have completed a blend of online learning, on-site learning in the Garda College. Templemore and on-the-job learning in training garda stations around the country.
Of those attested on Friday, just over a quarter (28) are female while nine members were born outside the State.
Initially, 74 of the new probationer gardaí have been assigned to the Dublin Metropolitan Region, 16 to the Eastern Region, 10 to the Southern Region, and 8 to the North Western Region.

Speaking at the Passing Out Ceremony, the Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee, wished the new recruits the best in their future careers.
"As Minister I am always immensely proud of our garda members and the pivotal role they play in keeping people safe. I am delighted to see such a vibrant and diverse group becoming gardaí. Each of our new gardaí have displayed the commitment, dedication and skill that has been the benchmark for An Garda Síochána for over a century and today is a day of great pride and achievement for each of them," she said.
