The funeral of of Wexford man Steven Ring is set to take place this morning, after his remains were discovered on Sunday afternoon.
Stephen Ring's body was discovered just before lunchtime in the water at Carrigfoyle Quarry, around six kilometres from Wexford town.
less than 6km from where the 27-year-old was last seen alive, having been dropped to the entrance of a Clonard housing estate at 2am on October 15.
The discovery was made by gardaí almost two weeks after he was reported missing.
Steven was described as the dearly loved son of Linda and the late Brendan, and brother of Jack and Lee.
The 27 year-old Wexford native is sadly missed by his heartbroken mother, brothers, grandparents Jim and Marie, aunts, uncles, relatives and a large circle of friends.
Steven's removal from Browne’s Funeral Home will take place at 11.30am to St David’s Church, Oylegate, with a funeral mass starting at 12 noon. A burial will take place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
Tributes have poured in for the young man, with man describing how Steven was "stolen from you all, long before his time".
A local parent said "there are no words to describe this heartbreak," adding "heartfelt condolences to Stephen’s family and friends".
"A lovable lad who would never pass without a greeting and a smile".
Two people have appeared before Wexford District Court in connection with the murder of Steven Ring.
Christopher Judge, a 41-year-old man appeared in court on Tuesday evening charged with the murder of Steven Ring. Jane Corcoran, a 34 year old woman from the same address as Mr Judge, was charged with aiding and abetting the commission of a criminal offence, namely murder.
