Swarms of lads in GAA shorts descend on Dublin for Paul Mescal look-a-like contest
People flocked to Dublin on Thursday, 7 November for the highly competitive Paul Mescal look-a-like contest.
The search for the Oscar nominee's doppleganger was organised by DJ and Marcus O'Laoire and took place at Smithfield Square ahead of the Irish premier of the highly anticipated Gladiator II at the Lighthouse cinema on Thursday night.

Lads from all over the country took part in the competition with look-a-likes challenged to deliver an iconic line by the Maynooth man.

The ultimate winner of the contest hailed from the Banner County after flawlessly performing Mescal's line from Normal People - "you look really well."
Jack Wall O'Reilly from Ennis, County Clare was crowned the winner after receiving the largest applause from the audience. Jack dawned the crisp white GAA shorts Mescal is known for wearing, and even had a pack of Denny sausages!
The grand prize for the best Paul Mescal look-a-like was €20, courtesy of Lidl, or three pints!
